At a housing association, bathroom ceilings with severe mould problems were treated with a Mould-resistant paint, following appropriate pretreatment with a mould remover. For 2,500 m² of ceiling, 250 litres of Inducoat were required — considerably less than with traditional paint — and the total budget was lower, with a longer service life.
The project figures
The project covered a total of 2,500 m² of bathroom ceilings. This required 250 litres of Inducoat Fungi were used — approximately 500 litres less than with a traditional choice because Inducoat provides much greater coverage. The purchase price of Inducoat Fungi is €22.50 per litre (gross, excluding VAT), slightly lower than traditional bathroom paint (€23.50 per litre). You need less of it and pay less overall: €5,625 for Inducoat versus €11,750 for the traditional paint.
Savings over the service life
For a much lower budget, residents receive a tinted mould-resistant ceiling finish. Moreover, this excludes the operational savings: while the traditional bathroom paint in this project had a service life of approximately 2 years, the Inducoat finish performed for approximately 5 years — a substantial extension of the maintenance cycle.
