Making mould controllable: responsible, simple & ecological

Because mould problems are persistent and recur in many buildings, it is essential not only to clean but also to protect the surface long-term afterwards. Inducoat offers a simple, economical, and ecologically focused system approach for this.

The Inducoat Slow Release technology releases the biocide in the dry paint film in a controlled and even manner. This means the dry paint film remains protected against mould, even under damp and intensively used conditions.

Pre-treatment with Inducoat Cleaner – an authorised biocide with authorisation number 12981N – treats the existing mould. After at least 24 hours, any remaining residues are removed so that the coating can be applied to a clean surface. Cleaning, assessing, treating and securing together form the approach.

The dry paint film of Inducoat Fungi has been tested according to EN 15457. The systems approach is applied in housing association homes, sports facilities and healthcare institutions.

You have a mould problem. As mould growth is only partially visible, we recommend spraying the entire surface with Inducoat Cleaner. This will halt the growth of the existing contamination and lay the foundation for a long-lasting finish with Inducoat Fungi.

Please note! The Cleaner is low-odour and biodegradable. The Cleaner itself does not need to be rinsed off or wiped away. After at least 24 hours, remove any remaining mould, algae, moss and similar deposits by hosing down or brushing. Once dry, the surface can be finished with Inducoat Fungi.

Finish with Fungi
After cleaning the mould contamination, you finish with Fungi. This is a high-quality styrene-acrylate copolymer coating with a high solids content, high opacity and Inducoat Slow Release protection of the dry paint film against mould attack. Fungi thus provides a professional finish for damp and intensively used rooms.

Technical explanation: how the mould-resistant system works

The Inducoat Slow Release system works by using a carefully selected cocktail of biocides formulated homogeneously in the paint matrix, after which these substances are released in a controlled, metered manner at the surface of the dry paint film. This even release keeps the surface concentration stable, without peak loads or rapid depletion. As a result, the paint film is protected against the adhesion, growth and colonisation of mould over the long term, even in damp or heavily stressed environments. This makes the mould-resistant system stable, efficient and economical in use.

The dry paint film of Inducoat Fungi has been tested according to the standard EN 15457. Pre-treatment with the Cleaner is an authorised biocide; the authorisation can be found in the Ctgb-register under number 12981N.

If the problem is not mould but something else, view the bacteria-resistant system or the algae-resistant system.
