At a healthcare institution in The Hague, all rooms, communal areas and corridors (10,000 m²) were finished with a tinted bacteria-resistant wall paint. The higher coverage meant that less paint was required — providing a bacteria-resistant wall finish for virtually the same budget, plus an estimated €4,500 saving from one fewer labour stage.
The project figures
The project covered 10,000 m². This required 1,000 litres of Inducoat Bacteria — approximately 800 litres less than with a traditional wall paint because Inducoat provides much greater coverage. The purchase price of Inducoat Bacteria is €22.00 per litre (gross, excluding VAT), compared with €12.40 per litre for traditional wall paint. Because less is required, the total is nevertheless comparable: €22,000 for Inducoat versus €22,320 for traditional wall paint.
More for the same budget
The difference in purchase cost is small, but for virtually the same budget, residents receive a tinted bacteria-resistant wall finish. And that excludes the saving in labour hours: during the project, it proved possible to eliminate an entire labour stage, with an estimated benefit of €4,500.
